CowParade Auction case study showcasing successful BusinessHere branded auction solutions

CowParade Auction Case Study

Objectives

CowParade is the world’s largest public art event. Cities all over the world have presented their cow sculptures. While the cow sculptures remain the same, each city’s artists are challenged by the art from past events, inspired by the cultural influences of their respective cities, and moved by their own interpretation of the cow as an art object. Upon completion of public art display, each city auctions the herd of cows with auction proceeds benefiting local charities. CowParade needed an online solution to maximize proceeds for the charities.

Solution

BusinessHere and CowParade have partnered to run auctions in the following locales:
  • Boston
  • Denver
  • Harrisburg
  • Las Vegas
  • Manchester, England
  • Prague, Czech Republic
  • San Antonio
  • West Hartford
  • Wisconsin

BusinessHere designed a private-label auction site to CowParades' specifications, which included multiple cities running auction simultaneously and with multiple types of currencies.

In addition to surrounding the auction site with services such as item listing, customer service, and payment processing, BusinessHere also provided sales reporting and check disbursement services to the local charities.

Results

  • Auction proceeds are approaching the million dollar mark
  • Thousands of bids have been placed by thousands of registered bidders
  • By collecting registered user information, CowParade has been able to expand their marketing database and ensure CowParade fans from around the world can participate in any city's CowParade project.
